Which of the athletes represents Russia on the Dakar rally
At the very beginning of January this year in South America, in the Pustama desert, the legendary Dakar rally was launched.
This year, a huge number of our athletes are participating in the South American rally, which was previously called “Paris -Dakar” – 33 people, 14 crews! Firstly, this is the Kamaz Master team, consisting of Ayrat Mardeev, Eduard Nikolaev and Andrei Karginov, last year’s winners of Dakar. All three are the main pilots of this year on the improved KamAZs, on which new Swiss engines “Liebherr” and other spare parts for trucks are installed. The Kamaz Master team is helped by the winners of the Africa raid Dmitry Sotnikov and Anton Shibalov on “fast technicics” with the old engines of the Tutaevsky motor factory. In total, 5 crews participate from Kamaz Master, three people in each.
