The name of the OSB plate was received because of their structure: long wood chips 6-40mm wide and up to 180 mm long longitudinally or transverse. Chips are used mainly from pine or aspen, located in several layers and saturated with resins, which determines the moisture resistance of the plates. For impregnation, phenol or formaldehyde resins are used. Their content is minimal, since the strength and connection of the chips occurs mainly due to the cross structure, so the slabs are safe for humans and ecology, have very good qualities and are one of the most common modern materials from wood.
